There are many users who use barcode printers, and some failures will occur more or less after a period of use. At this time, it is necessary to find out the reasons for maintenance. Bar code printers, such as TSC-244plus printers, the ribbon recovery shaft does not rotate when printing out, which will cause the ribbon to be taken out. What is the cause of the problem that the ribbon recovery shaft of the barcode printer does not rotate in a circle? How can we deal with it?
The ribbon recovery shaft of the printer is generally a power supply shaft, and the ribbon supply shaft is a driven shaft.
The ribbon recovery shaft currently has two power sources:
The first is to couple with the printing roller through a belt or gear, and a motor drives the printing roller and the ribbon recovery shaft at the same time;
The second is to drive the ribbon recovery shaft through an independent motor.
For the different power sources of the ribbon recovery shaft, there are different reasons for the ribbon recovery shaft not to rotate.
The following is an analysis of the causes of the two power sources:
1. The power supply method that uses belts or gears to couple with the printing roller
Since the ribbon recovery shaft and the printing roller use the same power source, if the ribbon recovery shaft does not rotate, there may be two reasons:
① The coupled belt or gear is coupled to slip, or is not coupled at all. This situation can be solved by replacing the belt or gear.
② There is a problem with the damping of the ribbon recovery shaft. Although there is no problem with the motor and coupling, the outer shaft of the ribbon recovery shaft does not rotate, but only the inner shaft is rotating. This situation can be solved by increasing the damping of the ribbon recovery shaft or replacing the damping sheet.
2. Power supply method using independent motor
The ribbon recovery shaft using this power source method generally has an independent ribbon control system. If the ribbon recovery shaft does not rotate, there may be three reasons:
① It is caused by setting errors in the printing mode of the printer, such as the driver or instruction clearly specifying the use of "thermal" mode, and the printer itself is installed with a ribbon. During printing, the printer will control the ribbon recovery axis to stop working , Resulting in the ribbon recovery shaft not rotating. This reason is also the most common reason, as long as the "thermal" mode on the driver or command is changed to "thermal transfer" mode, this problem can be solved.
② The independent motor of the ribbon supply shaft fails and the ribbon recovery shaft does not rotate. This situation is often accompanied by an alarm from the printer and printing is not possible. The problem can only be solved by replacing the motor.
③ The control system of the ribbon supply shaft fails. This situation is often accompanied by the printer alarm and cannot print. Some barcode printers have a circuit board that independently controls the ribbon supply shaft motor, and some barcode printers have ribbon supply shafts. The motor is controlled by the main circuit board, and the circuit board needs to be repaired or replaced according to different situations to solve the problem.
